I loved the first season so much I was ecstatic when they announced it was renewed for a second season. This show was such fun to watch I wished it were on every day!
My mom turned me on to the movie series on TNT, and it was a bit cheesy, but in a fun way. The show seems to have a bit more in the budget department, and if anything holds more adventure – but that’s because we can get ten different adventures verses the one adventure that a movie usually provides.
If you are wondering about the movies, there are three TV movies that aired 2004-2008 staring Noah Wyle as Flynn Carsen “the librarian” working for the Metropolitan Library. They follow the same premise as the show, with historical and mysterious magical/supernatural shenanigans, but the show has included a group instead of the singular librarian. If you haven’t watched them yet, but have enjoyed the show, check them out:
The Librarian: Quest for the Spear (2004)
The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mines (2006)
The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice (2008)
[All Three Currently Available On Demand]
If you have yet to watch the first season of The Librarians, or are hankering for a re-watch of season one there will be a marathon happening this weekend before the premiere of season two.
The marathon will all begin Saturday October 31st [Halloween] on TNT with the two hour premiere of season one: “And the Crown of King Arthur”/”And the Sword in the Stone” at 10am – 12pm and continues for the rest of the day ending with episode 10 “And the Loom of Fate” 7-8pm.
Season two of The Librarians is slated to consist of 10 episodes starting Sunday November 1st with a 2 hour premiere at 8/7c.
Judging from the preview it looks like season two will be even more fun! I can’t wait!
