I must be dreaming, is this real life right now?

I had to close the browser and open it again, search “Gilmore Girls revival”; just to be sure this was a real thing – that is actually happening.

Netflix and Warner Brothers is basically about to give us four Gilmore Girls movies.

Moreover, to place the cherry on top Amy Sherman-Palladino will be leading the way in this glorious look as to what has happened to our favorite mother-daughter duo on TV. Even though she [Palladino] initially did not part ways with Warner Brothers in a good way before the ending of Gilmore Girls, I’m sure I’m not the only one that is relieved she will be taking the reins on this.

According to TVLine sources have in fact confirmed this news, and negotiations with the cast are just starting to unfold. However, fear not, all of the major players of the show – Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson – are expected to return for the continuation.

They are saying the revival will be four 90-minute episodes/mini-movies.

Other than the major characters mentioned, I also want to see Keiko Agena [Lane Kim] and Melissa McCarthy [Sookie St. James], because where would those Gilmores be without their best friends!? I cannot imagine them in the present without those characters by their side in some capacity – especially Sookie with Lorelai still running there [obviously] super successful Inn.

Also, having Edward Herrmann [Richard Gilmore] absent will fill us with sadness. I wish he could have been a part of this. [RIP]

This revival will be allowing Palladino to end the series the way she had always intended before her split, and I can’t wait!

Yeah, it will probably be a year or two before we get our eyeballs on it, but it’s all good – we know it’s real now… The countdown can genuinely begin.
